We changed our way of assessing reading at MME. We now work on reading strategies and vocabulary during the week and then take a quiz over the strategies and vocabulary on Friday. In addition, we take a quiz over a short story that is on gradelevel that incorporatates the vocabulary. The short story is a "cold read" to give us accuarte data on how our kiddos are doing at gradelevel.
