Dr. Turpin and his Purdue students came and presented an "Alice in Wonderland" based play on chemistry to the fourth and fifth grade today at MME. They presented a lot of information in an exciting way in a short amount of time. The students really enjoyed learning from them.
On November 16th, we went to the Indiana History Musueum. In fourth grade, we learn all about Indiana's history. The museum touched on all of our fourth grade social studies standards!
We did a lot of experiements during our electricity/magnetism unit. The students got to experiment with static electricity, electricity using light bulbs and batteries, and magnets.

We changed our way of assessing reading at MME. We now work on reading strategies and vocabulary during the week and then take a quiz over the strategies and vocabulary on Friday. In addition, we take a quiz over a short story that is on gradelevel that incorporatates the vocabulary. The short story is a "cold read" to give us accuarte data on how our kiddos are doing at gradelevel.
